starterless tubelights

hi all

i want to ask how to convert normal 220V choke tubelight with a starter
to a starterless and direct using same choke

actually a long time before i saw some circuit (containing diodes) but dont remember other components

starterless tube problems

Hi,

I tried to build a similar circuit, without the choke.
It never worked, it started the tube about five or six
times per period but failed to keep the tube working.
I even increased the current trough the tube until the
ends turned purple. That's were I left it. I can't remember
all the details, but I think I used a 36 W tube and a
smaller one. The value of both bipolar capacitors is in
the µF range and depend on the type of tube.
Here's your chance of making yourself enormously
ridiculous....as I did. But that was more than twenty
years ago.
