Thanks for sharing:

I wonder whether your ADS.zip contains all the models from t018mmsp001_05.zip. It seems that you need:

mix018_rf.net
ResModel.net
device.net
mix018_rf.net
mm018.net

Maybe I am wrong.

Here is an instruction on how to install tsmc kit

http://www.tec.ufl.edu/~dojeda/intersil/report0723/david0723.html

* Installation Instructions for the ADS Front End design kit for the TSMC 0.18um RF CMOS process

In order to configure ADS to load the ADS Front End design kit for the TSMC 0.18um RF CMOS
process at ADS start-up, the following steps should be performed.

1. Save and unzip the tsmc_cm018rf_v2_dk.zip archive in an arbitrary directory on your hard drive
(). The design kit directories and files will then be inflated into
\tsmc_cm018rf_v2\...

2. Download the ADS models from TSMC Online (**broken link removed**).

The ADS models are contained in the archive named t018mmsp001_05.zip. This archive contains a
directory (Floppy) containing another archive, ADS.zip, which holds the actual ADS model files
together with documentation in pdf format.

Unzip t018mmsp001_05.zip, then unzip ADS.zip and place its contents in
\tsmc_cm018rf_v2\circuit\models\MasterModels

Note: You will need to have a username and password to access this site. Contact your TSMC sales
representative for more information.

3. For the purpose of this installation, add the following directory to your path:

$HPEESOF_DIR/tools/perl/bin (UNIX)

%HPEESOF_DIR%\tools\perl\bin (Windows)

Menu: Start / Settings / Control Panel

Select: System

Select tab: Environment

Add %HPEESOF_DIR%\tools\perl\bin to the system variable Path

separated by colon (":")

NOTE: on Sun platforms please also set the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to
$HPEESOF_DIR/lib/sun56

4. From \tsmc_cm018rf_v2\circuit\models\MasterModels run:

errata_unix.ksh (UNIX terminal window)

errata_dos.bat (double click icon in Windows Explorer)

5. From \tsmc_cm018rf_v2\circuit\models\MasterModels run:

prefix_unix.ksh (UNIX terminal window)

prefix_dos.bat (double click icon in Windows Explorer)

6. Activate the ADS design kit load mechanism (Not required for use with ADS2001 and later
versions).

The following lines should be added to:

$HPEESOF_DIR/custom/config/de_sim.cfg (for enabling design kit installation site-wide)

or

$HOME/hpeesof/config/de_sim.cfg (for enabling design kit installation for the single user).

---------------------------------------------------------------

#

# ADS variables to activate design kit load mechanism

#

DESIGN_KIT_DIRECTORY={$HPEESOF_DIR}/design_kit

DESIGN_KIT_LOCAL_OVERRIDE=FALSE

DESIGN_KIT_NO_MENU=TRUE

#

# extend the SITE_AEL and LOCAL_AEL path

#

SITE_AEL={%DESIGN_KIT_DIRECTORY}/design_kit_startup

LOCAL_AEL={%DESIGN_KIT_DIRECTORY}/design_kit_project_attach

----------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: if SITE_AEL and/or LOCAL_AEL were already defined, make sure that you merge the
entries separating them by a ';'.

7. Create entry for TSMC 0.18 um design kit in ads.lib file.

For the TSMC 0.18 CMOS design kit to be automatically loaded at ADS startup, the following entry
has to be added to the ads.lib file:

TSMC_CM018RF|/tsmc_cm018rf_v2|de/ael/boot

Note: There is a sample ads.lib file in \tsmc_cm018rf_v2\design_kit\ that you can copy to
the desired location

The entry consists of:

1) the name of the design kit;

2) the absolute path to the design kit;

3) the design kit boot file (including its RELATIVE path in the design kit)

SITE INSTALLATION:

Design kits that should be available to everyone using the installed version of ADS should be listed
in the SITE ads.lib file ($HPEESOF_DIR/custom/design_kit/ads.lib).

SINGLE-USER INSTALLATION:

Design kits that should be available to an individual user of ADS should be listed in the USER ads.lib
file ($HOME\hpeesof\design_kit\ads.lib).

Note: always use the forward slash ('/') in ads.lib - also when running on PC/Windows

t-018-lo document

hi dibl01
let me thank you for posting "how install tsmc kit" I'm really try and didn't find it.

file header:
"
PROCESS : 0.18um Mixed-Signal SALICIDE(1P6M+, 1.8V/3.3V)
MODEL : BSIM3 ( V3.2 )
DOC. NO.: T-018-MM-SP-001
VERSION : 1.1
DATE : Oct. 25, 2002
HSPICE VERSION : H98.4
"
the rest of file containing model and library for RF circuit only.

can not find instance nmos_rf

I have been working very hard to find this kit during the last winter break. However, the design kit is just a collection of perl programs

You should get the real models from

"T-018-MM-SP-002/fp1/ADS"

yes we need the 4 .net files

can any body get these files

ds2003 inductance design

Unfortunately I have no access to TSMC library, but I will try to find some way to get it.

However, if you can extract the data and put it in form of ADS library it will be great, it need someone familiar with ADS design kits.

ds2003 design

Hello,

I think a complete @DS design kits would contain logic, mixed-mode, and rf.
And here is the file you all may look for...

T-018-LO-SP-001(logic)
log018.net
ResModel.net
t-018-mm-sp-001_1_1_20021118(RF)
rf018.net
T-018-MM-SP-002(mixed-mode)
mm018.net

Thank you! shiowjyh

According the following install script ( in tsmc kit v2),

device.net
mix018_rf.net

are needed. Maybe I did not read the procedure correctly. Hope you could help me. Thanks!

*********
move mix018_rf.net mix018_rf_old.net
perl.exe errata.pl mix018_rf_errata.pl mix018_rf_old.net mix018_rf.net

perl.exe prefix.pl ResModel_prefix.pl ResModel.net ResModel_dk.net

copy *_dk.net ..\.

ads design kit installation

You are welcome!! dibl01

I think both device.net and mix018_rf.net are equivalent to log018.net and rf018.net respectively...
Since I am not working on @DS, I have nothing to share with you...Sorry. :(

Can anyone clarify it for me? Thanks!!

Regards,

Re: @DS2003 design kit

i have assumed that device.net and mix018_rf.net are equivalent to log018.net and rf018.net
and renamed log018.net to device.net and rf018.net to mix018rf.net

and use a perl compiler called active perl . not the perl.exe which exist in
HPEESOF_DIR%\tools\perl\bin
to run the two .bat files

and installed the design kit
but the simulation ended with errors

this is the message
Error detected by HPEESOFSIM during netlist parsing.
While evaluating expression `TSMC_CM018RF_BB_MODEL_pnp5.Bf':

It is so hard to find a RF design kit for ADS

Re: @DS2003 design kit

we still need mix018_rf.net and device.net

ABout .net files, can we realy use them. I mean if the .net files is for HSPICE, we may need to convert to .net for @DS??? I look at the files, Their header is for HSPICE.

Re: @DS2003 design kit

Well, I thought these spice models for @DS are correct...
I've read the README and want to point out an update history which was written by T.
It says added models for @DS V2001, but no specify whether it is suitable for @DS 2003 or not.

Can someone please try it on @DS 2001??
One more thing to ask, can someone explain to me what is in device.net??

Regards,

Both @DS and Hspice use BSIM3 model. It is just a job of translation between two naming methods in general, which explains why the design kit itself is a small package of perl scripts.

Re: @DS2003 design kit

* Dear dibl01

As I know Agilent will not support layout editor any more, since they join Cadence with agreement using there Layout tools "Costume IC" and "SoC"....hence most of ADS design kit will not contain DRC, thats why they are small size...as I think

* About the solution of ADS .net file :
 1st you must know you will spend sometime to work correctly,
 2nd thats what I have from asking about this problem:
- If you follow instructions and use the model “nch_rf33”, you will receive an error message.
- Now open the model file with a text editor.
- Remove the line “#ifdef MOS_RF33” and the line “#endif” directly follows it.
- Then save the file and try again I hope it work as it has done with me.
Good luck
