I have a circuit board to a steam unit and I believe some diodes are blown and I'm looking for a replacements. On the circuit the components are labeled CR8 and CR10. The only markings on the components themselves is J5X. They are about 1.6 mm wide, 2.7 mm long and 1.2 mm thick. Any idea what I need to get to replace them?

Can you indicate the voltage and current in the "steam" circuit?

The circuit is a Mr Steam 103899 Liquid Level Control Board. The power is labeeled 24 VAC and COM.

Here is the board:

I willing to try anything to get the board working. As it is, it's toast. So I can't damaged it any more. The end result is that I have to but a new board.

Thanks for the help

John

Knowing no electrical schematic makes it difficult to decide. <Maybe the circuit is a thermostat keeping water temperature over 100 C to generate steam. I would try to put a 1N4001 diode in place of the removed one an give it a try run. Instead of the complete circuit I would use a bimetal thermostat switch from a discarded iron to keep the heater at >100 deg.C but under say 110C.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will give it a try. I do know that part of the circuit controls the water level in the heating tank. Currently the water keeps flowing. The system never reaches the stage to start heating the water.
