Trapezoid shape of traces

I am wondering which trapezoid shape is correct in the attached figures. I have attached two figures. Each showing a 6 layers stackup. In the stackup editor there is an option to chose the top/bottom for the trapezoid trace. I am not sure which one make sense when it comes to manufacturing. Kindly have a look and suggest the correct position of trapezoid on the routing layers.

Figure 1 is correct, the wider part of the trapezoid will always be next to a core. As you etch down through the copper, you also loose some width, starting at the outermost edge of the copper.
