Transistor solar cell

with the exception of transistor 2n3055, can any high current power transistor TO 3 been used for solar cell?
 

The power transistor is likely to

1) have plated the front surface with emitter metallization,
limiting incoming photonic absorbtion

2) locate the significant (C-B) junction deep in the silicon
where short wavelengths' freed charge may not be
seen

Produce electricity? Sure. Produce useful, let alone cost
effective, amounts? Not likely.
