From my understanding transistors can be used for amplifying and switches.
What i am interested in is the switching (either on or off).
I have a switch at the moment (sorry for my explanation my terminology is a bit off)
From parallel port cable comes out to a transistor. middle leg is connected to cable coming out. Negative side goes back to the earth on the parallel port.
So when i send a signal from the parallel port. (not sure how do this yet) the transistor will close the switch turning on the device?
Also what should i ask for or look for to buy?
Can i do this.
