transformer doubt! - please help

transformer doubt!

guys,1)u know a transformer has a 2 leads @ one side and 3 leads on the other side!so the input will be on the 2 lead side that is (+) & (-). and the output from the 3 lead side.my doubt is the 2 corner leads are + and - and what is the middle lead for!
2)if the input is 220V AC to the transformer and will the output be DC(direct current)!

1) Seems to be a transformer with a center tapped winding
2) No, surely AC. How do you know, that the transformer is rated for 230 V? It doesn't look like.
3) You have to know the manufacturer respectively vendor specification

i know its 220V because i have connected it to 220V power supply and got 8-10V output,could u tell me if its DC or AC!

Are you joking? You measured it and want to know what you have measured? The instrument can tell.

sorry i guessed output voltage by connecting it to a 12 motor.but i dont know its DC or AC,but i am sure the voltage was from 9-10V!

thank,then i have to use a bridge rectifier to convert it into DC!

if it is a center tap transformer then u need two diodes + a capacitor

Transformors doesnt opearte on DC. Thus No polarities + or -.
Output will be DC only if the AC output is rectifie.
The transformor shown on the given link is a 3volt Output transformor used in old transsitor radios.
