install hspice under vista

The following are steps for installing Hspice in the Vista.
My Hspice version is 2004.03 and my Windows system is Vista Home Basic.

1. Install your hspice in your vista. No matter what the install result is. When you
go to the installed directory, you will find there is no "bin" subdirectory. So you
can not click the "hspui.exe"

2. install your hspice in the XP OS of another computer, and copy the whole "bin"
subdirectrory to your VISTA OS . For example, in my computer , the directory is
C:\synopsys\Hspice2004.03-SP1\bin

3. Setting up your environment variable for running hspice.
Adding these two environment variables in your computer.

LM_LICENSE_FILE C:\synopsys\Hspice2004.03-SP1\license.dat

installdir_2004_03-SP1 C:\synopsys\Hspice2004.03-SP1

The "LM_LICENSE_FILE " and "installdir_2004_03-SP1" are sytsem variable
name and "C:\synopsys\Hspice2004.03-SP1\license.dat" is the value for the
system variable "LM_LICENSE_FILE "
In my opinion ,the first variable tells the system where your license file is and
the second variable tells the system where your hspice installed.

4. Now you can double click the "hspui.exe" in your install directory.

That's all.

Good luck, everyone !
