For any Gas engine. I know I could buy this, but I want to build it from scratch.

A tach that picks the signal off the Spark plug wire.

I have a half dozen Meter's in my barn.:???:
I'm thinking of the Inductive pickup signal to an Amp circuit to the Analog meter.

If there are such circuits, I'd like the links to them.

I'm worried I'll get too much going through the meter movement as I don't recall where I got all that stuff over all these years.
Thanks

You can see this example :

Projects can be found here, there is several versions :

You can use optocoupler to isolate and increase safety for µC section.

I'm in a quandry here. Thank you so much for your efforts.
I wanted to build a tach out of stuff I had in the barn.
That's including a Meter needle. Not LED's.
Not a tach needing a circuit board, and a chip.

Maybe I'm looking for a tach of a different name.
Analog tach?
I don't want to wear out my welcome here.
Thanks.

I sure thank you guys for trying. I'm fighting some internal problems which keep me away from the Barn and the PC.
