When designing automotive circuits, what are some things that I should look out for? Are there special considerations when designing automotive circuits?

Re: automotive circuits

while designing circuits for automotives the one thing that you would need to look out for is that the parts which may come into physical contact and also which all parts would be needed to be protected from mechanical contact and other elements like water....

Voltage transients and wide temperature range.
The voltage transients (caused by load dumping) can be as high as 80V. Also, since the car battery can provide very high currents, make sure you take care of the inrush currents.
The temperature range for automotive products is usually -40C to +125C.
