i am trying to learn how to control the thyristor from the 555 output.I use this circuit

555 Circuit.jpg

Now i need to control a BT152 SCR but i cant make it to work. Can you explain me how to connect it? What i tried with no success is connect the 3 from 555 to the gate of the SCR,the power on the anode and the load on the cathode.

I would connect the cathode to your -ve line and the load between the anode and its power supply (+) and a small resistor between pin3 (555) and the thyristor gate (100 ohms?). You need a certain minimum current through the thyristor to keep it latched.
