Got an notification of this yesterday, the attached picture shows the devices next to some 0201's and 0402's, the drawn ruler is 1mm long.
**broken link removed**
Now I'm not getting any younger and bags of 0201's look like fairy dust, so these are getting silly. But having seen someone playing with 0.3mm and 0.2mm pitch BGA's I can see the need. My main worry is PCB manufacturing techniques keeping up with the ever decreasing size of components. The pad on these 008004's is 0.14mm square, so via in pad would be interesting, the only way I can see is a 0.75mm microvia in pad, copper filled.
Got to admit I love doing these extreme boards, just watching the engineer weep when you tell him some of the feature sizes is worth it.

I was aware of 0.3mm BGA/LGA, but never seen 0.2mm. Care to share any examples?

I wonder what fabhouses can actually pick and place a 008004...

Good ones!
I'll try and find the BGA report, it was from PCB Update and was an experimental design.
