W (band) is the energy componet of the signal within the frequency components w1 and w2. and it will be equal to the total energy as w1-> -infinity and w2 -> +infinity
 

x(t) is composed of many signals of different frequencies.
W1 to W2 range contains many signals of frequencies in this range.So the W band gives the sum total of energies of all these signals.
