Hello Everybody,

I have a question about the notion of Level: for exemple we find thar some models works in PSPICE with a Level=7, and in HSPICE with level=56, and in ELDO with Level=72, why this difference of levels ? and what is the impact of chosing the level name for some models ?

Thank you in advance

The level number must match the model. If you have a level 3 model you cannot change the level to and get sensible results and will most likely get errors. The level is simply an arbitrary number to identify which model is used but after they got to 3 differernt simulators starting using different numbers for the same basic model so if you want to use a level 8 Pspice model on Hspice you might need to edit the level to 49 or 53. There are often minor differences and/or extra parameters in the different Spice simulator implementations of the "same" level - hence the different number being used. You therefore may have to also do some model editing.
