hi guys am checking functionality of a microcontroller... whats the best way to make sure if the a/d pins are functioning?

thanks in advance

You can check if the a/d pins are working by connecting a potentiometer as a voltage divider to place them at several voltages within its range. And programming a simple routine to read the values.
By measuring the input voltage with adequate precision you can check for offset and linearity and other deviations.
