It is a tester for transistors and semiconductor diodes. This device works instead of identifying the terminals of transistors with a multimeter. It is a simple and handy device.
Half of precise stand DIP-8 was used as socket. By connecting to it the reduction on HEADERS with a cable, in a simple way we can identify the transistors and SMD diodes.
The board was made by themotransfer method and tinned with transformer soldering iron (100W).
Z-55 housing was used. All the holes were drilled with titanium drill. Measuring socket and switch holes are tedious works to do. The panel was made in FrontDesigner, printed on photo paper by ink printer. Then it was laminated, cut and glued with a thin layer of silicone (to endure difficult conditions – for example, wearing in the pocket).
The device works like this:
  • polarization npn – npn green LED flashes
  • polarization pnp – npn red LED flashes
  • good transistor – npn or pnp LED and OK LED flash
  • short circuit – npn and pnp LED flash alternately
  • break – no LED is lit
  • connector of pn LED enabled in the direction of CE – npn flashes
  • connector of pn LED enabled in the direction of EC – pnp flashes
  • if the transistor is in group B and C, OK LED flashes brighter than the others
