It is perfect tool for drilling holes in PCBs, especially when large number of holes is needed. Making a hole of 0,6-1,5mm in the laminate of 1,5mm takes less than a second, and it comes out perfectly in the middle of the soldering field.
A special drill 0,8mm (sometimes 1mm and 1,5mm for some elements) is used in this device. The drill is conducted almost perfectly vertically to the surface in both axes, so it shouldn't break.
Induction motor from a washing machine electropump, a bracket along with the bearing from an old multigrinder were used. A halogen bulb lights the workplace and an old car fan blows chips, which resulted from drilling.
The axis of the handle is connected to the motor through a flexible thick hose, so that the beating was reduced to a minimum.
Transformer TS 4/7 is also necessary, because the fan takes about 300mA.
