Hello everyone,

I'm currently studying passive mixer design, particularly in mm-Wave frequencies.

In general, it is common for the LO signal to drive the gate of the mixer switch, while the baseband (BB) signal drives the source terminal.

However, I have a question regarding rail-to-rail BB signals like QPSK. Do you think there could be advantages in exchanging the driving terminals of the switch transistor in this case? (BB signal to the gate terminal.)

In my opinion, this configuration could potentially provide better conversion gain, specifically LO-RF gain.

I would appreciate hearing your thoughts and opinions on this matter.

Thank you!
