[SOLVED] Suggestions needed for embedded job

Hi,

I have few months working experience in embedded company.
But feel there is lot to know in embedded.I want to make my career in embedded field.I know Embedded C/Assembly language not in deep.I have done 2 projects in embedded.I have been using ke*il IDE to develop programs.

If anybody working in embedded industry, please guide me what are the software/hardware skills required to get job in embedded.
Because in embedded companies mostly they ask for 2-3 years working experience in the same field. So as a beginner How sholud i develop my career in embedded.

I have done training course in embedded design & applications where i learnt abou C/8051microcontroller, did some simple assembly,c programming.

Any suggestions are welcome.

All you have to do is to practice small programs on assembly that cud be programmed through c using a cross compiler.
Keil is a s/w that will give u an insight. The induatry demands a professional from ARM backgroung. A person having good knowledge of ARM 7/9 profesional. The Person Sudd hve some god knowledge of Rtos. As u r a beginner so u need not worry . Brush ur concepts on Rtos fundamentals as u wont be geeting exposure of Rtos like Vx Works, St Lite, Neucleout Rt Linux unless u take up a job . So at the beggiver level u have to know about the concepts of Rtos . 8051 / Arm architecture knowledge Now a days some companies are using Blackfin Processor .

well, i have the same question as above, i need to know what should i know exactly to be an embedded software engineer???

i know basics on microcontrollers and assembly and C
(is there a difference between embedded C and just usual C???)

i know basics about RTOS, and i am starting now a course on ARM processor
so i guess that is enough for a fresher, ain't that right???

i have an interview soon and i need to know what should i take a look at before i do it

hi there is some thing i can tell u about embedded system is it is not only using microprocessor/controller or using ide's but it is overall integration of various technologies.
u said u know some amout of ide & microcontroller
now the next step is to learn the concepts of programming in c++ /Java which will help u to understand the concepts of Os/RTOs now a days used.

a hands on experience on VHDL use of FPGA is also preferred

Before going to high level (application level) programming languages, be good and strong in one IDE right from the design, implementation till the debugging of the source code either it can be a simple microcontroller like 8031/51 or a complex SOC design like ARM926EJ-S etc.,.

To be in embedded the candidate has to have a good analitical grsp of the processor archetecture and it's memory dead likes and stack size in qucik time and use the respective IDE for the development.
