now most off the power supplies used in commercial systems are switched type because of their compactness and efficiency a pc power supply is redly available and cheep(or can be taken from a old PC) , what i want to know is the switching frequency of it , which decides the noise figures on a audio amplifier.
puviarasu said:I want to make a 5.1 channel audio amplifier using the pc SMPS power supply, anyone please suggest ic for the amplifiers which are good in performance working on either 12V or 5V power supply and commonly available  .
or any 5.1 channel amplifier circuit if anyone has one :!: .
If u want more power (100w rms )then go for TDA7294/TDA7293.This IC is commonly used as subwoofer IC.
