Hi,
I am designing a power switch, which will be turned On/Off by a Microcontroller (if needed through an Optocoupler). Requirements of the switch are as below:
1. Input Voltage (VGS) : 12V
2. Maximum Load Current : 12 Ampere.
I am planning to use the drain of the MOSFET as the initial voltage feed to a series of POL (point of load) non-isolated converters, such as 3V3, 1V5 etc.,
Now my questions are:
1. Whether this is a practical approach ?
2. What special cares are to be taken (in schematics and Layout) with this Power FET ? , and
3. Please suggest me any MOSFET with above above specs which any of you might have used in past.
Thanks in Advance,
CKS
