What is relation between PIC32 Ethernet Eval Kit with original question ?

Also thread owner post strange question for USB facility and want to connect PS/2 to GLCD.
What is relation between USB and PS/2 ?

There is 8051 with USB support, you can search product index, its newer generation of 8051 family products. Go to Atmel web site.

HI tpetar

I want to have a controller with USB facility so that it can be connected with pen drive and PS/2 keyboard will be interfaced separately. 20*4 LCD display could do in place of GLCD.

Thanx for the replay frnds

I know you said an 8051 was preferred, but if you ever consider using a PIC microcontroller, the PIC18F4550 is pretty easy to use and has USB support.

Hi djc and others,

My thinking, if you want to use GLCD 128x64 and bigger displays then its nice to have more space for program and RAM. From Microchip family of products all weaker and below PIC18F is out of consideration.

Check these:

PIC18F45K22, PIC18F46K22, PIC18F4685,...

I currently making some project with Touch GLCD and I plan to switch from PIC18F45K22 to PIC18F4685. Additional space for data and RAM is always needed in GLCD and TFT projects, my project expand with screens and elements that I need, for now data increase more then 32KB (PIC18F45K22).

8051 can do the job if you use LCD, but all depends from project needs.

Check this thread in post #2 I link some addresses for PS/2 :

Irrespective of the choice of the controller, I only wanted to point out a good product selection tool on the Microchip website. It has helped me select the right MCU in the past. The MCU specs (8051 / PIC / others), as tpetar has already mentioned, will depend on the project requirements.

Hi frnds,

Can we drive TFT monitor directly with PIC18F4685 or some external hardware is needed for that.

Thank you
