Well, You have first to get involved in certain tools flow (say Cadence IC flow).. learn well, by reading manuals and online tutorials, by this way you are supposed to master Cadence tools within monthes.. this will depend on what you aim to learn, and on your previous VLSI knowledge as well..
Concentrate, and dedicate your aim..
