My target was to create untypical ( my favorite word) subwoofer for low price, that can play strong and fast and soft speaker I bought from second hand. Visually wasn’t very good but sound and parameters are great. Speaker is unique, so casing also should be unique. I have never met that painting before. In the future I will remove that paper rim.
Casing is made of 2cm boards from old PRL furniture. I put spatula and polished and painted on white. After paint had dried I put tape and painted black. After I had removed smile comes to my face. But there were also problems: hole for speakers terminal was to big, and I put some glue with port. Luckily port fit there hard without screws. There are also small paint posh. Provably surface was to oily, besides I tried to wash.
Wide is maximum cause there wan’t be place for another port. Soundproof layer is made of 3cm sponge anfter old mattress.
Device is powered by Sinus-live 502, with 200W at bridge (purportedly) but in my opinion there will be about 150W with 4ohm. Anyway I’m very glad.
Sound quality
As I wanted- bass is very fast, very deep. Power of Emphaser!. Acoustic pressure with 150W makes that your hair goes crazy, the same mirrors in the car. Plays similar to my bandstand CPA ( that I had in my car) and quite similar to Tonsil 30/120
Casing capacity:
Deep at top side :33cm
Deep at down side : 40,5cm
Wide : 39cm
High:31cm
About 28l without port and speaker and about 35l of all capacity.
Tune
About 37Hz, port BR 1,5cm wide and 28 length.
