Hello, everyone
My name is Zhen, a first year EE student.
The reason of opening this thread is to seek some advises about studying circuit design.
Last month, I was contacted by a professor about a research opportunity within University. the project is to design a precision time measurement system or the construction of a ultrasound imaging system.( as a first year student,I have no idea what that is:cry: ) The professor stated that the position will require circuit design, simulation, embedded system programming data acquisition and processing, image reconstruction and so on.
In order to be prepared for the job, I am starting to study the basic of circuit design and hope i can fit right into the position with minimum training.

Therefor ,I hope that I can get some advises about studying the circuit design from ground.
For example, which part should i study first, my first year EE course only cover up to the A/C circuit analysis.(phaser).I have absolutely no experience of circuit design.
Which book should i use or video series i should look into it?

Thanks ahead for every responses:)

Hi Zhen,
It is very unreasonable that a professor tried to suggest such projects to a freshman . and i have no idea why he/she did it ! and as i know professors will not leave these projects for a freshman and the usual jobs for a freshman with low experience is helping with checking the result of exams of students and something like this ... isn't it ?
Anywhere , you mentioned you want learn about circuit design right ? but what kind of circuit design ? circuit design is very deep section in electronics .
For instance : RF circuit design / control systems design / analog circuit design / digital circuit design /...... etc
Which section s your mean by circuit design ?
Best Wishes
Goldsmith
