stripline cavity

hi,

i am just beginner in HFSS, can anybody help me in simulating a stripline MULTISECTION Directional coupler (Asymmetric) using HFSS?

i have the design data for width of conductors and Separation between conductors, with considerable thickness of coductor (say T=2.55mm or 3mm)

I have created the model, assigning Port to Conductor of T= 2.55mm is the problem......

If any Tutorials on this stripline directional coupler using HFSS, helps a lot

thanking in advance

coupling stripline hfss

i have assigned a Lump port to the strip conductors of Thickness = 3mm, able to simulate it. No errors now

for 15dB coupler design, simulations are giving around 12dB coupling.
Can any body tell me why there is 3dB upcoupling? (12dB instead of 15dB)

Hi chandregowda,

There are many possible reasons for the mismatch between simulation results. I suggest first check your coupler model in HFSS. Second check all the settings, i.e. boundaries, ports and solution types. Third, you can increase the mesh density for your simulation if first two steps are done.

Hi,
thank you
i will check the coupler model,
Boundaries - Strip conductor pair are covered with vaccum box, All the sides of the vaccum box are Perfect E boundary
Port- Problem may be here, it is lumped port assigned to 3mm Thickness conductor (port has 5mm length and width of the port is equal to width of strip conductor), also ll increase the mesh density.

i can send the HFSS model to you, you can have a look for any errors with Boudary/Port/mesh density........

waiting for ur reply......

Hi Mr.ChandreGowda.

Send me your model I can help you out to sort out your problem
