proteus initial condition

I have design with 18F452 and some strange problem... :?:

I connect MCLR pin in standard configuration to +5V via 4.7K resistor and to GND via 10uF cap. When I start simulation, in simulation LOG I get message: $MCLR$ is not active. Processor is in reset.

When I try sample PICCalc with 18F452 with same reset circuit it works fine. And when I make a shematic it wont start.

When connect LogicState component to MCLR pin and set it to '1', simulation works fine!

Any help?

P.S. my PIC18.dll is 372.252 bytes

processor is in reset

Hi, did u use digital resistor?

Re: Strange problem with Prote.us 6.2 SP4

Try to connect MCLR to +5V without resistor and capacitor.

Re: Strange problem with Prote.us 6.2 SP4

The solution I use is to put initial condition on wire from MCLR pin to pullup resistor.

With digital resistor it denied to start! Of course, MCLR directly connected to +5v works OK!

So, why this happend? Any idea! For 16F still work great!

Re: Strange problem with Prote.us 6.2 SP4

Try to use a small value resistor like 100R see if it works if it does
then increase the value to 200R and so on probably the model has some
bug working on 4.7K also check your configuration file.

Re: Strange problem with Prote.us 6.2 SP4

Edit the 10uF capacitor and write on in "Other Properties" field the property:

{PRECHARGE=0}

This will simulate the 0V initial capacitor voltage at startup and will drive properly PIC18 reset pin (active low). The PRECHARGE property differs from IC property in that PRECHARGE will affect regardless Initial DC Solution option is selected or not.

That or Initial condition is solution!

But did anyone else had same experience?
