Stored Board starts functioning after Voltage and Current check via Multimeter

I had a very old APR9600 embedded board stored in a Box for a very long time. I recall that before I placed it in the box it was working. Later when I took out from the box it was dead. No output was coming.

So I took a MultiMeter and check V and I at different points (including the Vcc in the MCU) in the board. Then suddenly it started working seamlessly.

I am unable to understand that how it all started working by itself. I do remember that I did not changed any circuit or cleaned the board, no loose connections etc. Then how with just checking the board by a Multimeter - it started to work?

Something like Multimeter made some circuit to come alive?
