Stepper Motor End Effector

REMOVED LINK REDIRECTING TO A MAIN WEBPAGE ( no specific device specified )
Right now I have a robot with a stepper motor as its end effector. As of now the motor is powered by an outside power source and controlled/started via an arduino uno plugged into a laptop. Is there a way to plug the arduino into the robot or controller in order to start the motor in a program, say using DO or AO?
