it’s a new life of B&C 18 ps76 4 ohm converters – hybrids Band Pass Horn ES18. unfortunately they aren’t painted yet, I’m looking for someone who can comminution them.
Assumptions:
I wanted to get an strong impulse and hard kick, previously I had those speakers in sub 184 ( Band pass 6th), packs played very low, but they had weak impulse, and there was problem with deflection.
Execution:
Plywood 15mm, casing were ordered. Glued and waded by silicone, handle and terminals works on screws, and are sealed by silicone. Under the speakers are M6 screws. Metal handles, double Neutrin Speakon slots cousei’m going to make 4 of those packs and ADS PLX 4000 (2x2kw 2ohm, series connection)
Testing:
I must admire that I was surprise. First test was in the open air – outside my house. Unfortunately neighbors doesn’t like my toys. System plays as a good bass-reflex, very strong impulse, bass has very wide range. With about 40% of power, standing 2 meters from sub basses you can feel very clear that you pants are shaking. Bass is very fast, and don’t go down as BP 6th, but at the hall, all room is cover by sound, and with 70% of power you can hear window shacking, I set limiter a little bit lower.
I put pictures of casing before had painted. I referent this construction, it is very efficiency. I play with TA-1400, and TA-600
