This time I would like to present semiconductor tesla coil E-class. It’s based on simple system designed by Steve Ward.
Searching throught the internet I found home page of this project https://www.stevehv.4hv.org/classEsstc.htm
You can find there detailed description of construction.
I had some problems with starting. First was no ground at driver. Reason for that was cold solder. Next – after device had started, I wanted to make voltage preamplifier. I got 45V that goes to coil of primary winding. Problem was to get rezones ( warm mosfet). After many attempts and calculations coil started with full power with 63 nf of rezones condenser (c6) and 4,5 turn at primary. Also big problems gave coupling antenna. Very important was to place it close to secondary winding but not too close, that was serious problem for me because at my project antenna is situated under the secondary winding. Finally I adjusted it properly.
Parameters:
High of secondary winding : 193mm
Diameter of secondary winding : 110mm
F own of secondary winding: 267khz
Winding wire: 0,18mm

Diameter of primary winding: 160mm
Adjustable coil: 1 to 12
Wire at primary : 1,5mm

Hi gres.

Thanks for the pictures of your Class-E project. it looks very good and very compact.

Could you tell us more about it please... How many turns? What power supply etc.

Regards, henry
