Hi.

The water in a water cooled heat sink circulates to a distant heat sink 20º C cooler and returns in a loop.
¿How to calculate the optimal fluid circulation speed for maximum heat transfer?

Thermal resistance at source
Thermal resistane at sink
Surface area at source and sink
Surface area to volume ratio at source and sink

note: use a wetting agent to give better thermal contact between water and metal.

What do you want to mean with "optimal fluid circulation speed" for maximun heat transfer?

if you want maximun heat transfer you need the higest Reynolds number you can reach, it implies you will need more power for pumping, i.e is not optimun in the sense heat_flow_transfer/pumping_power.

Here what basil implies is that the fluid used can be a compressible one...thus volume and time are more relevant than speed...speed would vary with area or circumfrence of the circulator...although ur question is quiet correct...i.e. how long should a cerain volume of coolant be exposed to the heat source so as the cooling is most effective...
