Specifications for USB slot design

Hi,
can anybody suggest the required specifications and technologies to design a usb slot..... how can i get this information abt it....???

USB is differntail communcation protocol....so lenght matching between the D+ and D- lines is prefered ....in case you are using USB for 4.8MHz operation....also when you say USB slot ....make as note that what is USB that you are using....USB device or USB Host....both have different connectors and different interface standards...
