actually, this book is the best. but it is not widely known.
High-Power Converters and AC Drives by Bin Wu
written by the guy who teaches it to grad students everyday and also used in practice. good fundamental discussion, simulation with matlab/simulink and application to multilevel inverters.
i had a book for FPGA .. but can't remember now. i'll take a look and see, will let you know. in the mean time, a book for DSP implementation is
"DSP-Based Electromechanical Motion Control" by Hamid A. Toliyat, CRC Press, 2004.
