Some questions regarding Inverters (VFD Drives) by YASKAWA :

1) What's PG card ? Why its used in inverters ?

2) What's PG encoder ? Why its used ?

3) What's Z Pulse & Z Pulse Fault ?

4) What's node setup & hence node setup error ?

5) How to check the ratios between voltage & frequency if V/f setting is not operating as expected ?

6) How to Check the maintenance time for the capacitors ?

7) How to check maintenance time for the IGBTs ? How can we get to know this ?

8) How to check/measure the drive temperature ?

Complete Answering to all your questions
would need to write a few hundred pages thick technical manual.

It would be more wise to ask only one significant question in one post

3) What's Z Pulse & Z Pulse Fault ?

Generally speaking : Quadrature Errors
are failures of the encoder to generate properly formatted quadrature signals.
Most typically, these are failures to create the proper 90° signal separation between
the A and B channel outputs, with a less than perfect stream of square waves.
Most controllers, when presented with a quadrature error, will report a drive fault or
encoder fault and then shut down.

specifically for PG card (Yaskawa) and Z-pulse errors

Z-phase Pulse Fall Detection
The motor turned one full rotation without the Z pulse being detected.

Z-phase Noise Fault Detection
The Z pulse is out of phase by more than 5 degrees for the number of times
specified in parameter F1-17.

4) What's node setup & hence node setup error ?

The objective of this Technical Note is to demonstrate how to set up
a network with 2 or more nodes over either Mechatrolink or DeviceNet.
