RLDRAM

Reduced Latency DRAM, announced recently by Micron, a new DRAM architecture, specialy intended to be used in network devices, with large amount of storage space and also large number of random accesses.

The new DRAM contains 8 banks instead of 4, making random accesses to memory easier. I think this is a battle between Toshiba, Samsung and Micron. Toshiba provides a new kind of DRAM devices : DDR FCRAM, capable of doing random accesses to memory very well and with very low latency. Samsung ( The second great provider of sillicon products in the world. ) provides Network-DRAM, with a timing similar to what Toshiba's FCRAM devices. and finally we see Micron with it's new product.
