Hello,
It seems that i have problem with a PICkit2 programmer.
When I tried to use it today I could not.
Initializing PICkit 2 version 0.0.3.30
Found PICkit 2 - Operating System Version 118.90.90
PK2Error0008: Read failure (GetLastError = Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.)
This it what MPLAB tells me when i connect it to PC and the busy led on PICkit keeps flashing.
I was using it 2 days ago and everything was fine.

The thing i did today before using PICkit2 was installing tollchain and programmer drivers for RENESAS microcontroller. So i suspect that it may have something to do with it but to be honest i'm not sure what i can do now.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Krzysztof

EDIT:
I'm looking at it at the moment and and the crystal on the programmer does not oscillate. It seems that the firmware on the PICkit is corrupted. Is that possible??

Re: PICkit2 problem

Hi,

Well just started my Pk2 in mplab and I get this normal message

Initializing PICkit 2 version 0.0.3.63
Found PICkit 2 - Operating System Version 2.32.0

Do not know what your Version 118.90.90 is ??

Have you tried running the Pickit2 Programmer v2.61 stand alone program to see if the hardware works with that ok.
Would close MPlab down while you try it out to avoid any futher conflicts.

If that does not work then goto the Microchip forum and see the FAQ for the PK2 at the very top of that page.
If you cannot get things going then post your problem there as well.

[Solved] PICkit2 problem

Hello,

I seems that i sorted it out.
What i did was: I went to the Programmer Tab in MPLAB and I clicked Download OS which i think reloaded the firmware on PICkit2.
Now all seems to be OK.

Thanks for help
