Sodium Vapour Lamp electronic circuit

Hello

I should project an electronic power supply for turn on Sodium Vapour Lamp.

Can you help me to understand what I logically should do?
Example:
1) Create a High Voltage of 1000V for 100ms
2) Turn off for 50 ms

And if there are schematic diagram already done?
