Hello,

Considering the following SMPS transformer winding configurations (each one is for the same application)
………….....what would be the cost difference for these configurations?

Am I right in presuming that , for example, 1. would be significantly cheaper than 2. ?

1.
[CORE] (PRIMARY) //// (SECONDARY)

2.
[CORE] (PRIMARY) //// (SECONDARY) //// (AUXILIARY COIL)

3.
[CORE] (PRIMARY) // (AUXILIARY COIL) //// (SECONDARY)

4.
[CORE] (1/2 PRIMARY) //// (SECONDARY) //// (AUXILIARY COIL) // (1/2 PRIMARY)

where:-
//// = 3500V mains isolation barrier
// = single layer of tape
