I'm designing a flyback transformer.

Why one should use a vertical transformer instead of a horizontal one?

Nobody ever told me transformers work differently when you turn them sideways...

Are you talking about specific core/bobbin shapes and styles?

I noticed that some competitors are using vertical transformers. That's it.

I just would like to know if there is a particular reason to it.
