I am working on a project which uses a wind generator (basically a 10cm diameter windmill driving a motor as a generator giving AC current) to power a ~1W LED.

I would like to convert the AC power given by the generator in to DC.
Apart from using bridge rectifier which gives around 0.5-0.7V drop. Is there currently any sophisticated IC solution that can do the conversion with highest possible efficiency?

Dear Kam,

Thank you for your reply.
The reason why I need to use AC generator is that it there is commutator in the simple DC motor which create friction.
