Small audio amplifier, popping noise when power is turned on/off

I see nothing in your schematic that will cause a POP sound when this amplifier is powered or un-powered.

So my theories about the rising supply voltage and PSSR, and charging of the input capacitor can't explain this?

The positive supply should rise the same speed as the negative supply.
The input capacitor does not charge because both its ends are at 0V.
Maybe you amplifier wiring is picking up radiation from a spark at the power switch.
