Hi, I am looking for free PIC Microcontroller simulator. I know Proteus but it is a licensed software what I am searching is a software which is free and/or online available for academic purpose. Any recommendations on this please ?

Just do a search for PIC simulator. There's a number of them out there.

www.fored.co.uk - the free version has a 2K program limit but it includes a full IDE for most 8 and 16 bit PICs and a full speed simulator with analog and digital stimulation, LED & LCD displays, encoders, keypads.... all the usual things. It is by far the fastest simulation I have seen, often running faster than a real PIC can manage!

You can also do limited simulation with MPLABX but you have to create any interfacing signals by yourself.

Brian.

I was looking for an similar functionality but with an MAC7100 family chip, also as for an OMAP5912.
Maybe QEMU could run their software, just for the ARM part?
