Hello, i'm a new member of this forum.

I have the same issue with the simulation of a metal cylinder sheet with a periodic openings on the surfaces (slots).

I need to have a periodic structure that extends indefinitely into z direction.

How can i upload my project?

Thanks for your time.

Hi, i'm using CST STUDIO SUITE 2014

Hi,

sorry for this another post, but i use it to give a better description of my problem with CST Studio 2014.

I created a metal cylinder sheet with a periodic openings (slots) on its surface. The Cylinder must be infinitely extended in the z axis. I must simulate this structure with a current source into its center, and i need the farfield calculation.

If i use the Periodic Boundary conditions for the z-min and the z-max i receive the following warning:

Inhomogeneous material at periodic boundary detected. Farfield results may be inaccurate. (The structure must be identical in the periodic boundary plane and the next two mesh steps.)
Location(s): zmin zmax

Adding some space into the z-axis after the metal circle (into the background section of the modeler), is a good idea?

Thanks for your contributions.
