Hi, I have a digital signal coming out from a IC, it has a square wave shape, and the IC has an open collector output, so the output line is pulled up by a 10k resistor to + 5v.
Because this signal has to travel for about 2 meters in a harsh environment before reaching the microcontroller, I'd like to improve its strength.
I tougth of an op-amp like the TLV2372 (rail to rail, push-pull) configured as a voltage follower, but I was wondering if is there a more specific solution or IC to reach my goal
Thanks guys!

Much better to use a RS232 transceiver like the MAX232 which will provide +/- 12V signals. Use one device on each end.
