[SOLVED] SIMCOM serial connection qestion??

HI to ALL

i am interfacing sim300cz with PIC microcontroller, i am supplying 5 volt to both devices my question is "Do i have to put some level convertor chip between Pic and Simcom module serial pins ,to convert PIC pin voltage level into 3 volt?
or i can connect their pins directly???

You have something like this:


PIC_TX ---------------------->SIMCOM_RX
PIC_RX<----------------------SIMCOM_TX

You have to put a voltage divider between the PIC_TX and
SIMCOM_RX to lower the input voltage to SIMCOM_RX.

For the SIMCOM_TX to PIC_RX you don't have to put anything, because it will be 3 V, and for TTL maximum low is 2.5 V, all above that is high level.
