I have been asked to add a SIM card to an existing design, the SIM card has the standard 6 pin interface C1-C6.

Not much in terms of detail regarding required layout, the tech sheet just states keep the signals as short as possible. I can place it about 1" from the driver, can I simply route it or do I need to be concerned with trace matching, termination etc?

A SIM card's data interface is fairly low frequency so you won't have to worry about high speed issues like impedance matching and trace termination. For a 1" distance you won't need series resistors for EMI suppression either.

Thank you.
