Hi,

I have a problem with silkscreen on PADS PCB Design. Could you please tell me how to set the clearance error for silk screen if the silkscreen is away from the concerned component.

For example if the component C23 silk screen is 10mm away from the component when I do a clearance check it should show me the error that the silk screen is not with in the distance of 3mm of the component, it is 10mm away from the component.

Thank you.

Regards,
Vikash

Are you saying that the assembled device is not expected to be over the silkscreen drawn on component footprint ?

No.

I mean when doing a layout we will check if every component has got a concern reference design for that component. What if there is not reference design for the component or if the reference design for the component is far away from the component. How do i find it is far away ? is there any clearance that could fix this ?

Another option that would not involve redefinition of the overall DRC could be draw the component footprint with a biggest size that supposed, ensuring a margin of error.
