Lets say I put a 8x1 header, and I want to show its pins/pads names to be appear on PCB so the user can know what a pin is for, like pin 1 is for GND, pin 2 is for VCC and more.

But in altium pcb desginer, it doesn't show pins/pads names, only can show Designator or Comment of the component.

How can I make it show the pins/pads names ? I do not want to manually put string on Top Overlay for each pin, it would be nice if it auto adds.

Here is what I need to do

I think only manual option is available. Not sure. In all cases (IC and connector) I will put a round/triangle mark near to 1st pin.

For parts with a clear pin numbering scheme, pin 1 is usually given a square pad to tell it apart from the other round pads.

If you'd like to have the pin numbers included on the overlay, then simply add them on the overlay in the footprint of the part. This information will then automatically be transferred to the overlay of the PCB, too. One drawback of this approach is that the text is static, you can't rotate it in the PCB editor. This causes text to be oriented apparently "randomly" when you rotate parts to fit the layout optimally.

How can I do that ?
