I wish to ship several 100V 15000uF 100V electrolytic capacitors oversea using a sea freight service which may take up to 12 weeks before it reaches the destination. Do these capacitors need any specific precaution on packaging? For example, do you think the positive and negative terminals of each electrolytic capacitor should to be shorted?

Cheers.

precautions are a must as charged caps can discharge if contacted with metal or any surface better provide high insulation for the lets of the cap

Thank you all for your replies.

Since electrolytic capacitor may "leak", which type of box/case/container (e.g. ABS case, etc.) will not be attacked by the "chemical" leaked from electrolytic capacitor?

Thanks.
